Hotel Policies

ADA Policy
Guests with special needs will feel right at home! We’re fully compliant with ADA regulations, including offering guest rooms with accessible features.

Alcohol Policy
In the state of Louisiana, alcohol is for adults-only—so we only serve and sell to guests 21 and over. (Remember your ID!)

Age Requirement Policy
Kids are always welcome—as long as there are adults around too! At least one occupant of each Aloft room must be 21 years or older. Be sure to bring ID in case we need to confirm.

Early Departure Policy
Guests must notify hotel at least 24 hours prior to the arrival date to make changes to the departure date to avoid an early departure fee of 50% of the last day's room and tax.

Early Arrival Policy
Check in at 4pm or later and your Aloft room will be ready and waiting. Eager to get in earlier? Just ask at the front desk, and we'll do our best to find you a room that's ready. No guarantees—it depends on the last guests and our housekeeping schedule—but if we can't squeeze you in early, we'll be happy to hang on to your luggage in the meantime.

Extra Bedding Policy
The hotel does not provide rollaway beds.

ID Requirement
For security purposes, valid photo identification is required at check-in. Acceptable forms include a drivers license, passport, and/or proof of age card.

Late Checkout Policy
Feel free to sleep in—check-out time isn’t until 11am. Looking to stick around a bit longer? Let us know and we’ll try to keep the room available for you. There’s no guarantee, but if we need you to clear the room, we can always stash your suitcase somewhere else until you’re ready to go.

Special Event Policy
The hotel may enforce special event policies during high-demand dates, such as holidays, sporting events, festivals, and other citywide events. Some of these events include but are not limited to Mardi Gras, Jazz and Heritage Festival, Essence Festival, Bayou Classic, New Year’s Eve, the Super Bowl, and the Sugar Bowl.

Event policies can include prepayments or non-cancelable requirements for room reservations. For the safety and security of all hotel guests, access to guest floors during special events is limited to registered guests. Rates quoted when booking a reservation are for one occupant per room. Additional guests, up to a maximum of four per room, will incur an additional charge per person. Rollaway beds are not available at our hotel.

For any major event, the city may close specific streets, which can result in traffic delays during evening hours. Please allow extra time when traveling to and from the hotel.

Pet Policy
Animals are family, too! That’s why Aloft New Orleans Downtown welcomes dogs up to 40 pounds.* Our pet-friendly arf(SM) program offers a special bed, bowl, and a doggie bag of woof-alicious treats and toys, all complimentary to use during your stay. Please make sure they’re on their best behavior—we don’t want to charge you extra for housekeeping! All guests must sign a pet waiver upon arrival.

* If your dog weighs more than 40 pounds, please contact the hotel directly.

Credit/Debit Card Policy
Debit and Credit cards will be authorized at check-in for the amount of your stay, plus an amount to cover incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until check out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged. Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your bank or financial institution. The hotel is not responsible for any resulting fees or charges.

Smoking Policy
Aaahhh...breathe easy! We're a 100% smoke-free environment. So please follow our no-smoking rules—there's a $250 USD cleaning fee per night for anyone lighting up inside the hotel.

Visa/Passport Policy
International visitors, take note: We may need to see your passport (and visa, if you have one) as ID to validate your payment.
